Here We Go Again
A good day to be born. We took a side trip to Alta lake, thinking we'd spend as much time outside as possible, while being closer to the hospital than at home. It turned out she was ready and was born 24 minutes later (thanks, iphoto), of which about 18 were driving.
Well, the never-ending pregnancy ended, and now we have this sweet little girl. Isabella Jane was born on a gorgeous fall day last Friday, October 20 after off and on labor for three days, culminating to a near truck delivery en route to the hospital. We made it with about five minutes to spare and now have a fun story to go along with this beauty.
So far she's a mellow one, and after a couple of nights figuring the sleep thing out, seems to be a good sleeper like her sister. The dogs are adjusting well to their new pack member, and Fiona is as in love with her as we are.
My recovery is going well and while it's a long road back to fitness, I'm excited to see the progress that comes from a (long) chunk of time away from training. Motivation is high, races are on the calendar, and I just asked my in-house coach to give some training. After Fiona I was lucky to feel really good and able to run quickly, but without knowing how that will play out this time, I'm glad ski season is upon us to instead focus on getting strong and work on uphills until I'm able to run. Yee haw!
